Description
Heritage Oak Large Rustic Sideboard: Honest Wood for Real Homes
Let’s get one thing straight. If you want a lightweight plastic cabinet that you can throw together in twenty minutes with an Allen key, you are in the wrong place.
This large rustic sideboard is heavy, it is thick, and it will take two people to carry it into your room.
We do not do flat-pack.
This unit comes fully built because we use proper mortise and tenon joints that do not wobble. If we shipped this in a flat box, you would end up stripping the screws and ruining the wood.
It has three doors.
Behind those doors, you get simple shelves. It is just honest storage space for your plates, books, or whatever clutter you need to hide from visitors. The hinges are heavy-duty metal because flimsy hinges bend when kids slam the doors.
This is wood, so it has knots and colour variations.
We use a warm, natural stain to protect the surface, but it is not a plastic coating. If you drop a hot pan on it or scrape it with keys, it will mark. That is what real timber does. You can sand it back and oil it again, or you can just live with the character.
Get your tape measure out before you order.
It is a big unit. It takes up a lot of floor space, so make sure you actually have the room for it.
If you need kitchen storage to match, take a look at our full range of solid timber pieces over in our Kitchen category.
“This thing is a beast. It arrived fully built and took two of us to get it against the wall. It actually fits all our heavy stoneware plates without the shelves bowing like our old flat-pack did. It has a few knots in the wood, but that is real timber for you.”

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I clean this sideboard? Just wipe it down with a damp cloth and dry it off immediately. Do not use harsh chemical sprays or supermarket polish, as they build up a nasty film over time.
How long does delivery take? Standard delivery takes up to five business days. We will give you a tracking number so you can see where it is.
Will the wood split over time? No, the structural joints are built to hold. However, wood reacts to extreme heat, so do not park it right next to a roaring radiator or air conditioning unit.
Does it need oiling? It comes finished with a protective coat, but a light application of clear wax once or twice a year keeps the timber from drying out.
Do I have to attach the handles? The handles are fitted inside the doors to protect them during transit. You just need a screwdriver to flip them to the outside.
Is a fully assembled oak sideboard sturdier than flat-pack? Yes, because we glue and dowel the joints in the factory. It does not rely on cheap metal cam locks that loosen every time you move the furniture.
Why does the wood grain look different in the photos? Real timber does not grow in a factory. Every tree has different knots, wild grain patterns, and colour tones, so your piece will have its own look.
How do I know if this large sideboard will fit my space? Measure your wall space and leave room for the doors to swing open. Do not guess, or you will end up paying return shipping costs for a massive unit that blocks your doorway.
Can I mix this oak sideboard with darker mahogany or pine furniture? Yes, you do not need matching sets. The natural stain is neutral enough to sit alongside different timbers without looking like a mistake.
How do I fix a scratch on the finish myself? Rub a little wax polish over the scratch with soft wire wool, following the direction of the grain. If it is deep, you might need a touch-up pen from a hardware shop.
Will a large rustic sideboard make my small dining room look too cramped? It is a chunky piece of furniture. If your room is tiny, it might feel dominant, but keeping the top clear of heavy clutter helps make the space feel more open.
