If you try to move it on your own, you will probably put your back out. It is Solid Oak, which means it is going to expand and contract as the seasons change. That is not a defect. It is wood being wood. If you want something that stays exactly the same forever, go buy a plastic tub.

I usually recommend Large Oak Sideboards for families because they are basically kid-proof. My own lot have bashed toy cars into our furniture for years. A bit of wax or some Osmo Oil and the scuffs just blend in. You cannot do that with cheap veneer. Whether it is sitting in the Hallway or the Kitchen, a 3 door sideboard is there to do a job, not just look pretty.

Will the wood colour change over time? Yes. Oak mellows. It will get a bit darker and richer as it ages. That is the point of buying real timber.

Does it come in pieces? No. We build them in the workshop. It arrives as one solid unit. The only thing you might have to do is screw the handles on so they do not get damaged in the van.

Can I put a massive TV on it? You can. Unlike cheap boards, the top won’t bow under the weight of an 85 inch screen. It is built to hold heavy stacks of dinner plates, so a TV is no trouble.

What if my kids scratch it? Get some fine sandpaper and some furniture oil. Sand it back gently, re-oil it, and it is sorted. You can’t do that with painted MDF.
