Description
Extra Large Oak Sideboard 200cm: Real Wood, No Nonsense
Look, if you want something lightweight that you can throw in the back of a hatchback and assemble with a cheap Allen key, you are in the wrong place.
This extra large Oak sideboard 200cm is a beast of a unit. It is made of solid oak and real oak veneer, meaning it is heavy, it is solid, and it takes two proper adults to lift it without doing their backs in.
It will scratch if you drag keys across it.
Wood is a natural thing, so the grain on the one you get won’t look exactly like the picture. There will be knots, different colour tones, and places where the tree grew differently. That is just how real timber works, and we do not try to hide it under thick plastic paint.
We give it a simple, warm stain to keep the dust off and show the wood off.
The drawers and cabinets are there to hold your heavy plates, linens, or whatever clutter you need to hide away. The hinges are solid, the joints are done properly, and it does not wobble when you walk past.
It comes fully assembled because life is too short to spend your Saturday arguing over flatpack diagrams.
Just measure your room first. Seriously. Two metres is wider than you think.

“Look, I was sick of buying cheap flatpack stuff that falls apart when you move it. This sideboard is a proper beast. Heavy as anything, took two of us to get it into the dining room, but it isn’t going anywhere. It has got real character and actually holds all our heavy Christmas plates without bowing.”

Common Questions
How do I clean this sideboard?
Just use a soft, dry cloth to get the dust off. If you spill something, wipe it up immediately with a slightly damp cloth and dry it straight after. Don’t use harsh chemical sprays.
How heavy is this unit?
It is very heavy. You will need two strong people to move it around your house, so don’t try to lift it alone.
Do I need to put it together myself?
No, it comes fully built. You just need to unpack it and put it where you want it.
How long does standard delivery take?
We get it to you within five business days, and we will send you tracking details so you can see where it is.
Can I put hot plates directly on the wood?
No. Heat will ruin the finish and leave white marks. Use mats or coasters every single time.
Buying Advice
Will a 200cm sideboard fit in a standard dining room?
You need to measure your wall space carefully. Leave at least 60cm of clearance on either side so you can actually open the doors and walk past without bumping your shins.
Is the backing made of solid wood too?
We use solid wood panels for the main frame, and the back is finished properly so it stays rigid. It won’t bow or pop out like those thin cardboard backs on cheap furniture.
How scratch-resistant is the natural stain finish?
It is tough enough for daily family life, but it is still wood. If you scrape sharp metal or keys across it, it will mark, but unlike plastic, you can actually sand and re-wax oak.
Does the wood colour change over time?
Yes, natural timber matures when exposed to daylight. It will gradually take on a slightly deeper, richer tone over the years, which is exactly what real wood is supposed to do.
Troubleshooting & Styling
How do I blend this oak sideboard with darker wood floors?
Don’t worry about matching everything perfectly. You can break up the wood tones by putting a simple, neutral-coloured rug under the front feet of the sideboard.
How can I make a massive 200cm sideboard look less bulky in a smaller room?
Keep the top clear of heavy, dark items. Put a simple mirror on the wall above it to reflect light and make the room feel less crowded.
How do I fix a minor scratch on the surface myself?
Get some fine wire wool and gently rub along the direction of the grain, then apply a tiny bit of matching furniture wax. Don’t press too hard or you will rub right through the finish.
