The top is real oak. It will probably darken a bit over time if it sits in the sun, and if you are not careful with your coffee mugs, you will leave a ring. That is just wood for you. It has character. The white paint is clean enough, but it is meant for a real house, not a museum. It handles sticky fingers and the odd knock from a vacuum cleaner without throwing a fit. It is kid-proof, mostly because it is too heavy for them to knock over easily.
We do not do flat-pack here. I hate the stuff. This Chest of Drawers arrives as you see it. No hex keys, no swearing at instructions that do not make sense, and no leftover screws that make you wonder if the whole thing is about to collapse. It is just sorted. Common Questions
Does the white paint chip easily? It is a hard-wearing finish. If you bash it with something metal, yes, it might mark, but it is much tougher than the thin paper-foil you get on cheap furniture.
