Is it actually solid wood? Yes. It is solid pine. There is no thin board on the back or the bottom of the drawers that is going to bow the second you put something in it.

Does it come in one piece? Usually, these need a bit of assembly. It is not difficult, but don’t go at it with a power driver like a maniac or you will chew up the wood. Use a hand screwdriver and take your time.

How do I clean it? Do not use those supermarket sprays. They are full of silicone and they’ll ruin the wax finish over time. Just use a damp cloth and a bit of proper furniture wax every six months.

Will the colour change? Pine is a natural thing. It will darken a bit over the years as it catches the sun. I think it looks better that way, but if you want it to stay the exact same shade of pale forever, buy plastic.

Is it easy to scratch? It is pine, so it is a bit softer than oak. It will get the odd ding if you drop a remote on it. But like I said, a bit of wax hides a multitude of sins. It adds character.
