Mexican Pine Furniture
Why Corona Dining Tables Are The Best
Before we got our Corona table, we had this boring white table that got dirty super easy. My little brother would color on it with markers and it never came off! But our Corona pine furniture is sooooo much better because:
- It’s made of real wood from Mexico called Mexican pine
- It has cool black metal handles that look like they’re from cowboy times
- Each table has diffrent wood patterns so yours is unique
- It hides scratches and marks way better than white furniture!
My dad says Corona furniture is “solid as a rock” which means it’s super strong. I can even stand on our table (but don’t tell my mom I did that for this research!).
Picking the Right Size Table
When we were shopping for our Corona dining table, my parents spent FOREVER measuring our dining room. Here’s what I learned about the different sizes:
- Small tables are for 2-4 people (perfect for apartments or small houses)
- Medium tables are for 4-6 people (that’s what we got for our family of four)
- Big tables are for 6-8 people (my grandma has this size for when all the cousins visit)
- GIANT extending tables start small but get bigger for parties!
We got the medium size, but my favorite is the extending table because it’s like a transformer! It starts small for everyday but then BOOM! You pull it out and suddenly it’s big enough for birthday parties and Christmas dinner.
My top tip: Measure your room before buying! My parents made me and my brother stand in the dining room and pretend to pull chairs out to make sure there was enough space. It looked silly but was actually smart!
Corona Chairs – More Comfy Than They Look!
When you get a Corona furniture dining table, you should definately get the matching chairs. Our first chairs were these metal ones that made a horrible squeaky noise when you sat down, but the Corona wooden chairs are:
- Super sturdy (even when my cousin who’s 14 sits on them)
- Way more comfy than they look (we put cushions on ours)
- They have this cool curved back part that feels nice
- No more squeaky noises!
My mom put these blue cushions on our chairs that look amazing with the honey-colored wood. My dad says the blue and yellow-brown colors are “complementarry” which means they make each other look better.
Tables for Different Spaces
Not everyone has a big dining room like we do. My best friend Zoe lives in an apartment, and her family got a Corona breakfast bar table that fits in their kitchen! Here’s what table to get based on your space:
- Tiny kitchen: Get a Corona side table with 2 chairs
- Small dining area: Round Corona table (takes up less space)
- Normal dining room: Rectangular Corona dining table (what we have)
- Open plan living/dining: Large extending Corona table as a room divider
My aunt just moved to a new house and they have their Corona table in the kitchen! It looks amazing next to their Mexican pine sideboard where they keep all their plates and cups.
Styling Your Corona Table for Different Occassions
The coolest thing about our Corona table is how it looks diffrent depending on how you set it up! Here’s how we change it:
For Everyday Meals
We use simple placemats and our regular dishes. Mom puts a small plant in the middle which I have to remember not to knock over (I’ve done that twice already, oops!).
For Birthday Parties
We use colorful tablecloths and paper plates. The Corona wood color goes with ANY color decorations! Last month for my brother’s dinosaur birthday party, we used green decorations and it looked awesome with the Corona pine furniture.
For Christmas Dinner
This was the fanciest! Mom got a red tablecloth and put candles and pine branches down the middle of the table. The Corona wood looked so Christmassy with all the decorations!
Making a Complete Dining Set
The secret to a super cool dining room is getting other matching Corona furniture UK pieces to go with your table. In our dining room we have:
- Corona sideboard for storing plates, tablecloths, and the “fancy” silverware we use for special dinners
- Corona pine dresser where my mom displays her special plates and teacups
- Corona console table that goes against the wall for putting serving dishes on
My grandparents have an amazing Mexican pine dresser in their dining room that has a hutch on top with glass doors. It looks sooooo fancy with all their special dishes inside!
