We built this coffee table oak wood unit to take a beating from kids, dogs, and spilled drinks. It is made from solid oak and real oak veneer, meaning it is heavy and it will not budge when someone kicks their feet up on it. The corners are rounded off because we know what happens when toddlers run around the room.

It is going to scratch eventually.

That is just the nature of real timber, so do not panic when the first mark appears. You can either sand it back and wax it, or just call it character. The lower shelves are there to shove your magazines and remotes out of the way when guests arrive.

Just wipe it down with a damp cloth and dry it off straight away. Do not use harsh chemical sprays on it, or you will strip the finish.

We will get it to your door within 5 business days. You will get a tracking number to see where it is.

Yes, they will. If you put a boiling hot mug of tea directly on the timber, it will mark, so use a coaster.

Does it come in one piece?
Yes, it is pre-assembled. You do not have to spend your Saturday afternoon arguing over flat-pack instructions.

What should I do if it gets a scratch?
If it is a light scuff, rub a bit of clear wax polish into the wood. For deep scratches, you can sand it back gently and re-wax it.

Is this coffee table sturdy enough for a busy household?
It is heavy wood and built with solid joints. It will not wobble or tip over if a dog bumps into it.

How do I know if this width fits my living room?
Get your tape measure out and mark a space 100cm long by 60cm wide on your floor. Make sure you can still walk around it.

What does the natural wood grain look like?
Every piece of timber is different. Your table will have its own unique knots, grain patterns, and colour variations.

How do I match this oak with lighter pine or darker walnut in my room?
Do not try to match them perfectly because mismatched wood actually looks more natural. The warm stain on this oak blends easily with most other timbers.

The open shelves underneath let light through, which keeps it from looking like a giant block. Just make sure you have enough legroom.

How do I fix a minor scuff on the lacquer finish myself?
Take some very fine wire wool, rub gently in the direction of the wood grain, and apply a bit of clear furniture wax.
