Description
Rustic Oak Bookcase with doors
It is heavy. Get a mate to help you move it, because your back will not thank you if you try to lift this alone.
We built this from solid oak and real oak veneer parts to stop the panels from warping when your heating kicks in. Wood moves. It breathes, it gets scratches, and it changes colour over time.
That is what real timber does.
If you want a sterile piece of plastic that looks exactly the same in ten years, go buy flat-pack laminate.
This bookcase is for people who want something that survives kids, pets, and decades of actual use.
Measure your floor space before you buy. It stands 180cm tall, 100cm wide, and 30cm deep, which means it takes up a fair bit of room. The shelves are thick enough to hold real books without sagging in the middle.
If you have a load of messy paperwork or clutter you want to hide away out of sight, you might want to look for an oak bookcase with doors instead. This one is completely open. It is meant for showing off your books, family photos, or whatever else you have lying around.
We finish it with a warm, natural stain to protect the grain from a spilled cup of tea, but it will still mark if you abuse it. Use a coaster. Dust it down when it gets dirty.
It arrives fully built. You do not have to spend your Saturday afternoon arguing with your partner over a bag of missing wooden dowels and a confusing instruction leaflet. Just drag it inside, put it against the wall, and fill it up.
“Arrived fully built and solid as a rock. It is incredibly heavy, so make sure you have someone to help you carry it inside. Holds all my heavy hardbacks without bending.”

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I clean this bookcase?
Just wipe it down with a dry, soft cloth. If you get a spill, wipe it up immediately with a damp cloth and dry it straight after. Do not use harsh chemical sprays.
How long does standard delivery take?
We ship it out and it arrives at your door within five business days. You will get a tracking number to watch its progress.
Do I need to oil or wax the wood?
It comes with a protective stain finish, but giving it a light wax once a year keeps the wood from drying out. Just do not overdo it.
Can I put it next to a radiator?
It is not recommended. Direct heat sources can cause natural solid wood to shrink, warp, or crack over time.
Is it delivered in flat-pack boxes?
No, it arrives fully built. You do not need any tools, just some muscle to carry it to your room.
How do I know if this bookcase will fit my room?
Get your tape measure out and check both your floor space and your ceiling height. Remember to leave a few centimetres of breathing room so you can actually get it into place.
Why is a fully assembled bookcase sturdier than flat-pack?
Because we glue and join the frame properly in our workshop. There are no plastic cams or tiny screws holding the load-bearing joints together.
Will the wood grain look exactly like the picture?
No, and it shouldn’t. Every piece of oak has its own unique knots, grain patterns, and colour variations. That is the nature of real timber.
How do I match this oak bookcase with other wood tones in my room?
Do not try to match everything perfectly or your room will look like a furniture showroom. Mixing different wood tones is fine as long as you keep the undertones warm.
How can I make this large bookcase work in a narrow room?
Keep the shelves organised and do not pack them completely solid with books. Leaving some empty space helps the room feel less crowded.
How do I fix minor scratches or scuffs on the finish?
You can rub a bit of matching wax polish or a scratch repair marker over the mark. For deeper scratches, a light sand and a reapplication of clear lacquer does the trick.
