I am not going to lie to you and say it is some sort of miracle product. It is a Solid Wood TV Unit designed to hold your screen and hide your cables. That is it. It is made from Solid Oak which means it has got character. You will see knots. You will see grain patterns that do not look like a computer drew them. That is the point of real wood. If you want something that looks like plastic, go to a big blue warehouse and buy something flat-packed.

This particular unit works as a 60 inch tv stand without breaking a sweat. I have seen people try to put heavy screens on cheap boards and then wonder why the doors stop sticking after a month. Oak does not do that. It is dense. It is also a bit of a pain to move, so make sure you know where you want it before it arrives. My back still hurts from shifting these around the showroom.

If you are worried about the kids or the dog, this stuff is about as kid-proof as it gets. You can usually buff out a scratch if you have to. Common Questions I Get Asked

Will it arrive in a hundred pieces? No. It comes as it is. I do not have the patience for flat-pack and I do not expect you to either. It is pre-assembled. You just take it out of the box and try not to stub your toe on it.

Is the back made of real wood too? We use a thick ply for the back panels and drawer bases. Why? Because solid oak expands and contracts with the heat. If you made the back out of one solid slab, it would crack the frame within a year. It is a bit of common sense that saves you a headache later.

Can I fit my gaming consoles in there? Yes. There is plenty of room for the bits and bobs. Just make sure you leave a bit of a gap for airflow. Those things get hot and wood is a good insulator.

What if I hate the grain pattern? Then you probably should not buy oak. Every tree is different. I cannot tell a tree how to grow. One unit might have a bit more swirl, another might be straighter. That is the beauty of it, or the frustration, depending on how picky you are.

Will the colour fade? If you put it in direct sunlight under a south-facing window for five years, it might lighten a bit. It is a natural product. It ages. Most people think it looks better with a bit of age on it.
