I’ve spent a good chunk of my life in and around workshops, and if there is one thing I have learned, it is that most modern furniture is built to be looked at, not lived with. But that is not how we do things here at Oak Castle Furniture. Do I need to put these together myself? Not at all. I hate flat-pack as much as the next person. These arrive at your door fully assembled. You just take them out of the box and they are ready to use.

How do I keep the oak looking good? It is easier than you think. A quick dust with a dry cloth does most of the work. Every six months or so, I’d recommend a bit of clear furniture wax or a quality oil. It keeps the wood hydrated and looking chuffed.

Will the delivery driver just leave them on the kerb? Only if you choose standard delivery and aren’t in. If you go for our Premium service, we will actually carry them into whichever room you want, unbox them, and take all that annoying cardboard away with us.

Are they heavy? They have got some real weight to them, yes. That is the sign of quality oak. You will not find them sliding across the floor if someone bumps into them.

What if I spill something on the table? Don’t panic. If it’s a water spill, just wipe it up straight away. For hot drinks, I always tell people to use a coaster. It’s solid wood, so it’s tough, but heat can leave marks if you aren’t careful. If you do get a ring mark, a bit of fine wire wool and some fresh wax usually sorts it right out.
