A 100cm sideboard can be a useful option when you want storage along a roughly one-metre wall section, but width alone does not establish a good fit. Check the exact outside dimensions, room for opening doors and drawers, usable storage and delivery access before choosing a model.
Start with our sideboard range to compare individual pieces. The 100cm listing group also includes narrower items, so confirm each product’s stated width rather than assuming every result measures exactly 100cm.
The photograph is an illustration, not proof of a particular width. Use the specifications of the model you are ordering; do not infer its dimensions from an image or collection name.
Measure the space with the sideboard open
Record the available wall width, then check the depth into the room and the height beneath windows, artwork or other fittings. Include handles and projecting tops in the footprint where relevant. Allow clearance for skirting, sockets and the wall-restraint arrangement specified for the product.
Mark the footprint on the floor and add the opening space for every door and drawer. Check that you can walk past, reach the storage and use nearby seating. An 80cm, 100cm or 120cm width is not automatically better: choose according to the actual room and the belongings you need to store.
Compare an exact 100cm model with a narrower alternative
These measurements are the product pages’ listed outside width × depth × height. They are not internal storage dimensions, and the two pieces are not a verified matching collection.
| Product | Listed W × D × H | What to confirm |
|---|---|---|
| Compact and Stylish Small Sideboard Oak for Efficient Storage | 100 × 42 × 78cm | Listed in light oak with no assembly required. Ask for the actual drawer/cupboard layout, internal dimensions and component materials. |
| 97cm Oak Sideboard | 97 × 40 × 81cm | A narrower alternative, not an exact 100cm model. Listed as ready assembled; its page contains conflicting shelf-layout wording, so confirm whether the shelf is adjustable. |
The 100cm model is listed at 42cm deep, so do not assume a general “35–40cm deep” description applies. Likewise, do not round a 97cm listing up to 100cm when planning a tight space. Ask whether the published dimensions include the full top and other projections if that affects fit.
Check what will fit inside
List the items you intend to store and measure the largest: plates, serving dishes, board-game boxes or organisers. Compare those measurements with clear shelf height, usable depth, drawer size and the opening through which the item must pass.
Two sideboards with the same outside width can have different internal layouts. Check whether shelves are fixed or adjustable and ask for stated shelf, drawer and top load limits. A drawer count or a room photograph does not establish usable capacity.
Verify the route into your home
A one-metre width does not guarantee that an assembled sideboard will pass through your doorway. Compare packaged dimensions with the clear door opening, stair width, landings and turns along the whole route. Confirm the delivery service and access requirements before ordering.
Check the current delivery estimate directly if the product page shows conflicting dates. Do not assume that separately ordered pieces arrive together or that a particular service includes carrying, unpacking or packaging removal.
Compare construction, finish and care
Read the component materials and the protective finish for the exact model. An oak colour name does not establish solid-oak construction throughout. Ask about missing specifications rather than relying on a category-wide claim about materials, lifespan or resistance to wear.
Follow the supplied care, load, positioning and wall-restraint instructions. Do not assume heavy furniture is tip-proof, suitable for a television or protected against every spill. If you need it to support equipment, confirm the intended use and limits first.
Before ordering
- Confirm the exact model, outside dimensions, finish and item quantity.
- Resolve missing internal measurements, shelf-layout conflicts and assembly details.
- Review the complete price, delivery/access charges, returns process and guarantee exclusions.
